Civic Si Torque Numbers Leak, Disappoint

A newsletter from Honda to Civic diehards accidentally leaked torque numbers on the upcoming 10th generation Civic Si. Specs indicate a turbocharged 1.5L worth an impressive-last-decade 192LB-FT.

Though it is a 15HP increase over both the Sport and Touring trim levels, it will still be completely emasculated by the forthcoming Type-R with 100LB-FT more torque, though that may help the Si not torque-steer into a tree.

Horsepower hasn’t yet been revealed, but engineers do promise active dampers, active steering and a trick limited slip differential. It has also been announced that the little-engine-that-might will be mated to a six-speed manual transmission. Styling is still expected to be hideous.
